10 Bugs Still Haunting Windows 11 24H2 Despite Multiple Patches
Windows 11 24H2 was supposed to be a major step forward, bringing better performance, improved Copilot AI, and a more refined File Explorer experience. However, as with many big updates, it hasn’t been without its issues.
Despite months of beta testing and multiple patches, a handful of stubborn bugs continue to affect users. While Microsoft has resolved many of the initial problems, these 10 ongoing issues could still cause headaches if you’ve installed the update.
1. Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on Some PCs

Blue screens are one of the most frustrating errors a Windows user can encounter, and Windows 11 24H2 seems to have introduced several different causes for the infamous BSOD.
- Easy Anti-Cheat Conflicts – A security tool used by online multiplayer games, Easy Anti-Cheat, appears to clash with Windows 11 on devices using Intel Alder Lake+ processors with vPro. Microsoft is working with the developer on a fix.
- Intel Smart Sound Technology Issues – PCs with Intel 11th Gen Core processors using outdated drivers for Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) could experience frequent crashes.
- Western Digital SSD Incompatibility – Some PCs, including Lenovo and Asus VivoBook models, have been hit with unexpected blue screens due to SSD-related conflicts.
2. Network Sharing & Internet Connectivity Problems
Several users have reported serious networking issues after installing Windows 11 24H2.
- Some PCs have trouble obtaining an IP address, preventing them from connecting to the internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Even updating network drivers or resetting the connection doesn’t always fix the issue.
- The clipboard history tool, which lets users copy and sync clipboard items across devices, appears to be broken for some users. The system insists the history is empty, even when it isn’t.
- Network Discovery Problems – Windows no longer displays other computers or devices on the network, making it difficult to share files or access printers. This could be linked to Function Discovery Resource Publication (FDResPub) not running correctly.
A workaround for network sharing is to manually restart FDResPub, but for many users, Microsoft has yet to release an official patch.
3. AutoCAD 2022 Won’t Open

If you rely on AutoCAD 2022, you may run into issues after installing Windows 11 24H2. Many users report that the software fails to launch, often displaying cryptic error messages.
Microsoft has put a temporary block on the update for PCs running AutoCAD 2022 and is working with Autodesk on a fix. If you need AutoCAD for work, it’s best to delay upgrading for now.
4. Printing Issues on ARM-Based Copilot+ PCs
If you own a Copilot+ PC running Windows 11 24H2, you might find that your printer stops working entirely.
- Users with HP, Canon, Brother, and other major brands report problems setting up or using their printers after upgrading.
- Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and suggested a few workarounds, but a full fix has not yet been released.
5. Outlook May Not Launch with Google Workspace Sync

Businesses relying on Google Workspace Sync for Outlook may find that Outlook refuses to open.
- Affected users receive an error message stating:
“Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot Open the Outlook Window. The set of folders cannot be opened. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was unable to load the information service…”
If you use Outlook and Google Workspace, it may be safer to hold off on the Windows 11 24H2 update until Microsoft provides a fix.
6. Citrix Update Blocks Windows Patches
If your company uses Citrix Session Recording Agent (SRA) v2411, your PC might be unable to install critical Windows updates.
- This issue, introduced with January’s Patch Tuesday, causes the update process to fail repeatedly.
- Microsoft and Citrix are actively working together to resolve the problem.
For now, businesses relying on Citrix may need to delay installing Windows updates to avoid compatibility issues.
7. Audio Devices & Bluetooth Issues

Another frustrating problem affecting some Windows 11 24H2 users is broken audio output.
- PCs with Dirac Audio Technology – Users with Dirac Audio drivers report that internal speakers, Bluetooth devices, and even wired headsets stop working.
- Bluetooth Audio Problems – Some Bluetooth speakers and headsets are no longer recognized by Windows, making them completely unusable.
If your PC relies on Dirac Audio or Bluetooth, you may want to delay updating until a fix is available.
8. Easy Anti-Cheat & Gaming Conflicts
Gamers have run into serious problems when playing online multiplayer games that use Easy Anti-Cheat.
- On some PCs, the game crashes entirely, while others suffer from the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).
- Ubisoft titles, including Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Assassin’s Creed games, were particularly affected.
If you experience issues, check for updates from both Microsoft and the game developers to see if patches have been released.
9. Certain PCs Struggle with Updates & Performance
Some hardware configurations seem to have ongoing stability issues with Windows 11 24H2:
- MSI & Asus Z890 Motherboards – These motherboards, particularly those running Intel Core Ultra 200S processors, may experience random BSOD crashes due to graphics driver conflicts.
- Performance Drops on Older Hardware – Some users report that older PCs feel noticeably slower after installing the update, even with otherwise compatible hardware.
If you’re running an older machine, you may want to hold off on the update until Microsoft optimizes performance further.
10. Windows Clipboard History Issues
Clipboard history is a handy tool, but after the Windows 11 24H2 update, many users find that it simply doesn’t work anymore.
- The system often fails to remember copied text or images, displaying an error that says the clipboard is empty—even when it isn’t.
- Microsoft was made aware of this bug during the beta testing phase, but it appears to have persisted into the final release.
If you rely on clipboard history, you may want to disable and re-enable it under Settings → System → Clipboard.
Final Thoughts: Is Windows 11 24H2 Worth Updating?
While Windows 11 24H2 brings useful features and performance improvements, these persistent issues make it clear that the update isn’t quite stable for everyone.
Before updating, check whether your PC is affected by any of these bugs. If you rely on AutoCAD, Citrix, Easy Anti-Cheat, or specific networking features, it may be best to wait for further patches.
